This is utterly admirable, and a handsome production also. The Screen-play is by Donald Ogden Stewart. Cast includes William Powell, Irene Dunne, Elizabeth Taylor, Edmund Gwenn, ZaSu Pitts, Jimmy Lydon, and Matlin Milner. (118 minutes,’47)
Kill or Be Killed: Karate champions lock limbs as ex-Nazi tutor desires reprisal on his Japanese counterpart who bested him in a battle in WW2. This is a cut above the typical martial arts fodder. Cast includes James Ryan, Norman Combes, Charlotte Michelle, and Danie DuPlessis. (90 minutes,’80)
Liar Liar: Fletcher Reede is a hard working lawyer who is constantly disappointing his wonderful young son. Eventually, before blowing out the candles at his birthday, Max makes his wish. He wants his father to not be able to lie for one full day. The results are absolutely hilarious.
Trader Horn: Early talkie classic filmed largely in Michigan forests still retains lots of enthusiasm in story of hero local trader Carey confronting tribal violence. Cast includes Harry Carey, Edwina Booth, Duncan Renaldo, Olive Brilliant Carey, Mutia Omoolu, and C. Aubrey Smith. (120 minutes,’31)
Spungen: Director Cox accomplishes a masterful level of a documentary-reality. He then laces it with metaphorical fantasy icons, with striking outcomes. At the center of the film are two incredible performances by Goldman and Webb, who don’t appear to be acting at all: They are Sid and Nancy. The movie is a downer, to be certain, however captivating. (105 minutes,’69)
Black Legion: Plant employee Bogart, disheartened after losing a promotion to a colleague named “Dombrowski,” becomes engaged with a Ku Klux Klan type group. This commanding and still pertinent drama is well made. Cast includes Humphrey Bogart, Erin O’Brien-Moore, Dick Foran, Ann Sheridan, Joe Sauers (Sawyer), Helen Flint, Dickie Jones, and Henry Brandon. (83 minutes,’36)
The Saint: Master thief Simon Templar is close to retirement. He decides to take one last job, to properly fill his bank account. A Russian billionaire hires him to steal a formula for cold fusion from scientist Emma Russell. Two things change his plans. He falls in love with the beautiful scientist, and learns the potential disaster if this formula was in the wrong hands.
South of Heaven West of Hell: Normal Western plot line of redemption pits marshal Yoakam in a battle against his old outlaw gang, led by Bible-toting patriarch Askew. Cast includes Dwight Yoakam, Vince Vaughn, Billy Bob Thornton, Bridget Fonda, Peter Fonda, Paul Reubens, Bud Cort, Bo Hopkins, Matt Clark, Noble Willingham, Scott Wilson, Luke Askew, Michael Jeter, Joe Ely, and Warren Zevon. (127 minutes, 2000)
For file downloads use a phrase like “Watch New Movies Online”. Not all searches get the right result. If the first one fails to work out try another one. Try something different, like “Legal Music Download Services”.
Even cut out the fee you pay to join a video store. Rent Dvd No longer do you have to sprint to the nearest movie rental store to get what you’re looking for. Oh yeah we have our computer and TV hooked up so we watched it that way.
