Its Okay To Celebrate Your Cat’s Birthday
Have you ever heard a friend say pets are people too? That’s what you’ll hear from people like me. People like me are the ones that dress their little furry friend up in outfits. We also let them eat off of supper plates just like any guest would in our house. To people like me, pets are regular family members. We are just as interested in their health and well being as we are about our actual kids. We fret about them and take great pleasure in their individual personalities.
Do you know any couples who haven’t had kids of their own? There are plenty of American couples who have never had any children. Some people just aren’t capable of having children for one reason or another. Some individuals have purposefully chosen to be bachelors or otherwise single. Sometimes single adults find themselves desiring the gratification of parenting a child. If having a real baby isn’t an option for whatever reason, some of these decent people might choose to love a pet as if it were their child.
Can you blame these nice people for wanting the same affection in their lives that children can bring? Some pets have very human like personalities. Due to this, it is understandable how they can fill the role of children. You might even know someone who treats their pets like children. Is it really that bad?
So, if the pet is going to be a regular part of the family, why not have a birthday party for it on its birthday? Why not do what you would do for any other kid. You can make her a special pet treat style cake. Put a candle in it and help her blow it out. Sing happy birthday to her just like you would a child. Then when you’re done, go ahead and let her tear open her presents. If it is a kitty, you should wrap some kind of catnip toy in loose wrapping paper so she will be able to tear it apart like a child.
Get out your video recorder. Don’t forget to record the special moment so you can display it online. Look at how many other pet lovers have posted videos of their cats and dogs online there. There are some really funny ones with kittens on there. If you don’t believe me take a look for yourself.
So, just because you don’t have any actual kids around home, or even if you do, it doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate your pet’s birthday. Pick up some new toys for your little furry friend and enjoy the moment just as you would with a regular child.
